Parish Development

St John’s received a substantial legacy in 2015. A Parish Development group was set up to consider how this should be used to best effect for the church and community.

The outcome is that the church is being reordered to provide modern heating and lighting sytems as well as new flooring under the pews and fully decorated. The pews will be stripped back to the original pine and sealed. The style will restore the church closer to its Victorian origins.

In addtion a Community Hall with kitchen, toilets and a church office will be annexed to the West End of the church. When completed in the summer of 2020 the hall will be available for booking by local groups. The official opening by the Bishop of Grantham is planned for Sunday 27th Sptember at 5pm.

Community Hall Management

OVERVIEW

Once the building work on the Community Hall is complete we will have a wonderful new resource for use by the church and the wider community. In planning for the use of the hall many issues have to be considered. Some of these may not be controversial but on others there may different views. Everyone’s input would be useful in the planning for this.
